ABOUT

Hello, my name is Allison and I'm an industrial design student at The Ohio State University, graduating class of 2022, and a Columbus, Ohio resident. I am the current President of OSU's chapter of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). I am also a member of a Scholars program here that specializes in the study of Humanitarian Engineering. From this, I've discovered that I am especially interested in sustainability. I'm passionate about people and bettering the lives of under-served communities. I am also passionate about women's health and interior space planning, specifically with how spaces make people feel.

I have had the opportunity to serve a local school and village in Guatemala for 4 years in a row, which really powers my desire and love to serve others. I believe there are creative solutions and opportunities to change the lives of many people in the world around us.

For my most recent trip to Guatemala, in 2018, I wanted to do something special for the school community. Before the trip, I ran a sunglasses drive and collected over 120 pairs to donate to the students at The Jungle School. I got the opportunity to teach all the kids about the importance of protecting their eyes against the sun, which is something they previously didn't know about.
