INNOVATIVE EDUCATION

ACADEMIC PROJECT

3 WEEKS

Partnering with ODEE, office of distance education and e-learning, at Ohio State, we were to find new, disruptive ways to facilitate student and faculty learning around digital skills and academic software. My group believed that creating an interactive solution that is not only enjoyable, but rewarding, teaching and learning technology will be much more sought after. We designed a gamified app as a proactive solution to learning software. I collaborated alongside Calvin Dolatowski and Izzy Brown.

IDEATION & PROCESS

After ideating learning opportunities through Concept-Knowledge maps and Divergent

FINAL CONCEPT

Users choose what level of depth they want to learn their program.

Based on the user’s academic and personal desires, they choose the specific software they want to learn.

Users choose a lesson which is followed by a game.

By passing games, users earn points that can be applied toward free Dining Dollars or Discounted Tickets through OSU, as well as completion certificates that can aid them professionally. This encourages students to be proactive with their learning.

User interacts with desired lesson.

User plays game!
